When you delete the EGR system, EGR gases are blocked from entering the intake, but the EGR valve is still set to function, so the EGR Valve Position (EVP) sensor related codes are not registered. The Adaptive Performance EGR Eliminator plugs into your mustangs wiring harness to simulate the closed position of the EGR Valve Position value and prevent code 31 (EVP circuit below minimum voltage) from getting logged ,but codes 33 and 34 (EVP not opening )are registered.Why do we want this to happen? The EEC-IV logic will not allow the operation of the EGR system once the EVP 33 and 34 are registered. There by, no timing advance is added by the system, since the EGR function is bypassed. Once the Adaptive Performance EGR Eliminator is plugged in, your cars EGR system is correctly bypassed in the EEC, no more detonation, and more check engine light. As an added benefit once the check engine light has been turned off, you will be able to once again use the check engine light to notify you of more serious problems that may occur in the future!
